Day 10 – Wildlife feeder & nature preserve
I did a few different things on this day, but I ended with this.
I have a squirrel who is a frequent visitor, so I thought I’d leave a little treat for him and I was hoping he would maybe leave a cute little squirrel paw print on the page.
But he preferred dining at the bird feeder instead. Not once did even glance at the food I set out for him – the exact same stuff that is in the feeder.
So, I decided he – or even the birds – might need a little more enticing. So I added some cherries, and broke them open so they’d make a mess but also so maybe the birds/squirrels would get the fresh fruit scent and decide they had to have some!
Still no takers. Except, at last – ANTS!
So I left everything in place overnight, thinking maybe a night critter like a racoon or something might come and have a snack – but everything was still the same the next morning. Geez – I can’t even give this stuff away!
I got rid of the cherries (ew – by this time they were FULL of Ants!) and it had either rained a little or had a heavy dew.
Now I’m starting to like the look of this thing! Want to make your own wildlife feeder from a book? Wreck this Journal at Jamie Ridler’s.
